yoga & movement
We come to yoga with our life stories. The history of who we have been, the turbulence and waves of life written into not only the way we see the world, but into the way we move and carry ourselves. Yoga provides a platform for the ever-daunting task of self-reflection.
As a yoga teacher, my goal is to help my students navigate these challenges by giving them the tools they need to allow themselves to be vulnerable and open to looking inside themselves without being afraid of what they'll see.
I help students get in touch with the parts of themselves they lose track of on a daily basis, and to feel safe and encouraged to explore as they see fit. My ultimate desire as a yoga teacher is to keep your body safe in movement exploration, and to simultaneously encourage you to find comfort in the discomfort, to find sweetness & surrender in the effort of finding your edge- wherever it may be. I help to accomplish this through a keen awareness of what is going on in the moment in my students' bodies - their physiological, psychological, and emotional states of being, and tailoring class to suit their needs. There are many variations, props, and changes we can make to our practice to let it be suitable for all.
as of May 1, 2019, i am no longer teaching regular public yoga classes as i shift my focus full-time to private clients.
the past four years have been an incredible journey, and as i continue to learn and grow as a teacher, i recognize my capacity to do just that has only arisen from the wonderful students who have taught me along the way.
